FIA Region I Director General Laurianne Krid said, “Commissioner Bulc announced today a decrease of 2% of road fatalities on European roads in 2017. This is encouraging news, as European roads remain amongst the safest in the world. However, more needs to be done to achieve the ambitious vision we share. In this regard, the upcoming mobility package will give us some tools to improve vehicle safety and road infrastructure. FIA Region I will continue to work to educate road users from a young age and raise awareness on today’s dangers such as distraction and speed.”
