ELVITEN vehicles help citizens during the lockdown

    29 April 2020

Due to the global outbreak of COVID-19 virus, ELVITEN demonstrations in all six partner cities are currently not possible. However, some of the cities are using the project’s services to help their citizens.

In Genoa, a vehicle was rented to a supermarket for delivery of groceries to citizens across the city: the vehicle travelled more than 440 km and 140 trips in two weeks’ time. At the same time, a healthcare volunteer used an ELVITEN vehicle to help citizens in need and travelled 71 km. In the city of Trikala, the local Municipal Police and delivery companies are also using ELVITEN vehicles to help citizens during the lockdown.

FIA Region I is one of the 21 partners of the ELVITEN project, which seeks to make users more familiar with Electric Light Vehicles (EL-Vs) and encourage their use for both private transport and light urban delivery.
