Club news: UAB delivers the message ‘safer cars for safer roads’ throughout Bulgaria

    15 June 2018

For the second year in a row, Union des Automobilistes Bulgares (UAB) held a “Day of free services”  to increase road safety awareness among drivers in Bulgaria. UAB welcomed twice the number of visitors compared to the year before.

During the Saturday event, all visitors could get a thorough inspection of their suspension, brakes, lights, fluids, CO2 emissions and more. They were also given advice about safe driving and a car sticker “Safe Vehicle”, which gives the driver the opportunity to receive additional discounts at UAB.

Drivers also had the chance to test their reactions with special alcohol glasses that simulate different levels of being drunk. Renault Bulgaria provided cars for a free test drive. As a parting gift, all visitors received a car freshener with the #3500LIVES message from Rafael Nadal to ‘check your tires’ and a #3500LIVES pen.

The focus of the event was Safer cars for safer roads, as 40% of the vehicles in Bulgaria are over 20 years old. From now, events will follow throughout June in the cities of Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, the capital Sofia, Blagoevgrad and Burgas spreading the #3500LIVES message to ‘check your tires’. All of the events are taking place with the support of FIA Road Safety Grant Programme 2018.
