Emergency Assist Botswana reports on the National Road Safety Symposium “Effective Partnership for Road Safety” in October 2015. The event focused on strategies for improvement of the road safety situation in the country. Partners included the Botswana Ministry of Transport and Communications, the World Health Organisation, the UN and a number of national organisations from civil society and the private sector. The Minister of Transport and Communications Tshenolo Arithur Mabeo, called for a coherent and inclusive strategy for battling the current high rates of road traffic fatalities as well as the increase in accidents caused by reckless driving.
