On  22 May the FIA Region I Technical Working Group elected Ms Lone Otto (Technical Manager, FDM) as new Vice Chair of the working group.

Ms Otto joined the FDM in May 2014 and today covers the position of Technical Manager, accountable for the FDM´s Technical Department & Counseling, and FDM´s Technical Academy, across Product Development, Operations and Technology. She is very passionate about her job and is well aware of the challenges mobility Clubs have to face. The development of new cars and their technologies takes place with increasing speed and Clubs must be ahead to protect consumers: “Personally, I believe that if we are not in that position, vehicle manufactures will overrule the consumers negatively and we will lose our ability to influence the laws in the right directions” she commented.

She succeeds Dr Maximilian Lang (Chief Technician at ÖAMTC) who decided to retire and therefore left the Vice Chair position. This working group was also the last one for Mr France Kmetic (Secretary General at AMZS) who is also retiring. FIA Region I is very grateful for Dr Lang’s and Mr Kmetic’s contributions to the technical working group, as it greatly benefited from their extensive expertise on Club activities, and the automotive sector and its technologies.
