FIA Region I gives IMPACT Connected Car Pioneer Award to Trafficnow

    07 March 2019
On 28 February, FIA Region I gave the IMPACT Connected Car Pioneer Award to Trafficnow, an SME creating roadside equipment as well as centralised solutions for big data treatment. For its applications, Trafficnow uses connected floating car data in order to optimise mobility in junctions, roundabouts, work zones and other roadside challenges. Their flagship product collects data and calculates travel time, speed, origin and destination data, which are key components for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). The SME has in the past year been accelerated by IMPACT Connected Car through funding, mentorship and network. Trafficnow proved to be the best performing participant from the first batch out of 13 projects selected for funding in 2018. The award comes with a €15,000 prize and participation in the 4YFN Barcelona 2019, an event of the Mobile World Congress 2019. The award was handed out to Robert Nordentoft, Trafficnow General Manager, by Olivier Lenz, Programmes Director at FIA Region I, and, by David Seoane, Project Manager at FundingBox. IMPACT Connected Car creates value link-chains for innovation in the Connected Car open space, with consumer and business services, through the acceleration and smartisation of over 60 disruptive SMEs. The project will distribute €2.1 million equity-free funding. The FIA is one of the partners of the project funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.
