The Forum for Mobility and Society, of which FIA Region I holds the Secretariat, is organising the event “Connected and Automated Driving: What’s needed from the EU?” on 13 November 2019 (10:00-14:00), hosted by the Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU.
The event aims to identify and discuss some of the major challenges and opportunities for connected and automated driving (CAD) and whether the EU and Member States are acting decisively enough from industry, consumer and societal perspective.
Our Director General, Laurianne Krid, will join the panel discussion on the EU priorities for CAD together with representatives from the European Commission, CLEPA and ETRMA. It will be an opportunity to present and discuss with EU decision-makers the findings of FIA Region I’s recently published study on the economic impacts of the current data access models for motorists and the aftermarket.
The event will also feature several exhibitions from CAD technologies, where FIA Region I will showcase its involvement in three EU projects dedicated to CAD, Arcade, Autopilot and L3pilot. The exhibition will underline our constant research in the area and stress the importance of involving mobility users when developing, testing and deploying new technologies.
