On 8-9 November, FIA Region I President Thierry Willemarck participated in a high-level conference on the future mobility in the middle-East on invitation of the Automobile and Touring Club of the United Arab Emirates (ATC UAE). He presented opportunities and challenges for the future from a consumer perspective and also moderated a panel debate on the barriers to electrification in road transport and the prospects of raising user acceptance.

The two-day summit was organised as the United Arab Emirates aims to take a lead role in the definition of future mobility and, in particular, regarding electrification. An exhibition highlighting the latest developments in electric and hybrid vehicle technology took place alongside the conference.
