European survey looks into user acceptance of automated driving services

    07 February 2019

Automated driving is expected to increase safety, provide more comfort and create many new business opportunities for mobility services. The Internet of Things (IoT) will play an important role in enhancing automated driving functions, by providing information to the vehicle from a multitude of sources, from traffic lights to drones.

As automated driving will strongly disrupt the transport sector, it is crucial to know what is needed to ensure user acceptance of such new services.

The European Project AUTOPILOT, of which FIA Region I is a partner, has just launched a public online survey to answer this question.

The survey is available in eight languages (English, Dutch, German, Italian, French, Spanish, Finnish and Greek). After choosing one of three scenarios involving automated driving and IoT, respondents can give feedback on requirements, expectations, and concerns related to the explained service.

The collected answers will be analysed and fed back into the design of the pilot testing in AUTOPILOT.

We invite you to take part to the survey to help us shape the testing and design of future automated driving services.
