Club News: TCS protects its members from cybercrime

    21 November 2017

The Touring Club of Switzerland (TCS) is now offering an Internet protection service to help its members combat cybercrime. Swiss cybercrime has increased from 5,330 cases in 2011 to more than 14,000 in 2016.

Holders of the new ‘internet protection booklet’ are insured worldwide as private Internet users. The service provides comprehensive legal protection for individuals and families for their daily use of the Internet. It is based on the three principles of prevention, assistance, and legal protection.

The booklet holders benefit from free access to a Swiss ID protection portal. It also offers practical assistance in case of identity theft, cybermobbing, threats, blackmail, credit card fraud, etc. Legal costs are covered up to CHF 300,000 in Switzerland and the EU / EFTA. In the rest of the world, they are covered up to CHF 50,000.
