FIA Region I represents mobility Clubs across Europe, the Middle East and Africa: a network of 102 Clubs, that represent nearly 42 million individual members. We call for affordable, safe, and sustainable mobility for consumers, in our work towards international institutions and in public debates on mobility. As part of an ongoing strategic and organisational evolution, Region I is also strengthening its capacity building activities to build up links and support the exchange of best practices between its Member Clubs and better support their development and ability to innovation.
Reporting line
Reports to: Membership Director, FIA Region I Functional coordination: FIA Region I Director General, Policy Department, Communications Officer, Senior EU projects Manager, wider FIA mobility team.
Role purpose
We are seeking a professional with event management experience, eager to support the preparation and organisation of events, as well as capacity building activities for the FIA Region I member organisations.
The Membership & Events Officer will lead and deliver key events and member engagement activities. The person will be the direct lead for an international contest and training event for international road patrols/breakdown assistance teams and will assist in multiple additional events in a support function – including societal outreach activities on road safety. The role foresees some travelling.
The Membership & Events Officer operates within a wider team of three colleagues, that organises workshops, trainings, networking events, and offers online resources (e.g. webinars) to its member organisations. But he/she also supports the wider office (a team of 10 full time staff) as/when additional needs arise (e.g. stakeholder events in Brussels).
Key responsibilities
· Events management (end-to-end delivery, logistics, coordination, reporting)
· Conducting financial oversight for events, including budget forecasting, supplier negotiations, expenses tracking.
· Contribute to the deployment of various capacity building resources for Clubs (digital tools, webinars, training opportunities, conducting member surveys)
· Assist with the Region I websites management (CMS, content creation, online registration tools, etc.)

Skills:
· Event planning and delivery
Professional experience related to events is a requisite, considered a plus if such experience is within a member-based organisation
· Project Management & Organisation Capable of managing timelines, multiple tasks, and priorities effectively, excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Communication & Stakeholder Management
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with partners, suppliers in an international environment. Diplomacy and ability to engage with senior stakeholders / members particularly valued.
· Budget Awareness Ability to manage budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery.
· Digital & Analytical Skills Familiar with event tools and able to collect and analyse feedback/data.
Personal attributes:
· Ability to keep calm under pressure with a keen problem-solving attitude.
· Autonomy and ownership: takes full responsibility for assigned events and proactively drive tasks through to completion.
· Teamwork & collaboration: Works well across teams and contributes positively to group efforts in a small office environment
· Proficiency in English, and any additional language(s) considered a plus
· Willingness to travel (10-20%)
