Summary of the project

ELVITEN promotes innovation, sustainability and connected urban mobility in Europe through demonstrating the usefulness of electrified L-category vehicles (EL-Vs) for urban transportation in six pilot cities. It aims to achieve a mind shift among users and will propose replicable usage schemes to address the issues surrounding the market deployment of EL-Vs. It will also generate detailed guidelines for service providers and planning authorities to integrate EL-Vs into existing networks. Data and options will be collected and analysed from real users, meaning ICT tools are deployed to broker and book existing charging points and EL-Vs, engage users and manage incentives.

ELVITEN demonstrates how electric light vehicles (EL-Vs) can be used in urban areas and be integrated into the existing transport network of six European cities.

FIA Region I’s role in the project

FIA Region I participates in ELVITEN through user engagement, communication and event dissemination. It works closely with the pilot cities and other partners to implement a communication strategy plan that ensures the uptake and communication of results.

FIA Region I invites interested Member Clubs and stakeholders outside of the ELVITEN project consortium to join the ELVITEN Regional Support Groups (RSGs). Supporting Members benefit from increased visibility through the inclusion of company logos on communication materials as well as social media and are invited to become involved in ELVITEN workshops and events. Additionally, Member Clubs can become Follower Cities – a network of cities which are interested in promoting the transferability of the ELVITEN usage schemes and are interested in support electric mobility in their city based on ELVITEN experiences and practices.
