ATCL Transforms International Driving Permit Services with a Fully Digital Journey

    28 September 2026

The Automobile and Touring Club of Lebanon (ATCL) is taking another important step in modernizing mobility services by transforming the way motorists obtain their International Driving Permits (IDPs).

What was traditionally an in-person process can now be completed remotely, offering motorists a faster, simpler and more convenient experience from application to delivery.

Through the integration of fintech solutions, applicants can submit their required documents digitally, pay the applicable fees securely online and request home delivery of their IDP, without the need to visit ATCL in person.

A key element of the new service is its API integration with the Traffic and Vehicles Management Organization, allowing submitted information and documents to be verified through the relevant official systems before an IDP is issued. This combines the convenience of a digital service with an important layer of official verification.

Once the verification is completed, ATCL prepares the International Driving Permit and arranges its delivery directly to the applicant, creating an end-to-end digital journey from application to doorstep.

The initiative demonstrates how FIA Member Clubs can combine technology, official data verification, secure digital payments and delivery services to modernize traditional mobility services while making them more accessible to motorists.

For ATCL, the development is not simply about putting an existing service online. It is part of a wider commitment to modernizing Club services and responding to the changing expectations of motorists in Lebanon.

    Imad Lahoud, ATCL Board Member

Our objective is to make the International Driving Permit service as simple and accessible as possible while maintaining the proper verification process behind it. By combining digital applications, secure payment, official data verification and delivery, we are providing motorists with a modern service that responds to the way people expect to access services today.
