Touring wins 2025 Road Patrol Training for Excellence in Switzerland

    27 October 2025

From 21-24 October, the FIA Region I and ARC Europe organised the 2025 Road Patrol Training for Excellence, kindly hosted by the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) in Cossonay (Lausanne).

The annual event brings together roadside assistance patrol teams from different countries in Europe and serves as a platform for exchanging best practices and discussing the latest developments in mobility and vehicle repair services.

This year, 16 teams gathered at TCS’s mobility centre in Cossonay for three days of intensive training and evaluation. The core objective of the training is to ensure member organizations maintain the highest standards of roadside assistance services. Participants engaged in practical technical training and assessments that covered a range of vehicles, including electric models.

During the final assessment of the training, teams are given a score and compete for the title of Best Road Patrol Team of the Year. This year’s team from Touring (Belgium), Maxime Denuit and Ardit Zavalina, won the title of Best Road Patrol Team in Europe after achieving the highest scores. The team from the The AA (UK), Shaun Jones and Nick Evers, secured second place, while the team from the ANWB (The Netherlands), Jos Cartens and Dennis Van Der Pol, won third place.

During the award ceremony, the FIA Region I President Jorge Delgado reflected on the organisation’s shared values and sense of purpose, stating: “We are a bit different: we have a responsibility. Every time we take a member, every time we take a customer, we take a huge responsibility. We are very different because we have that commitment. That commitment to be the best, to repair more than everybody else and to make sure that we deliver better every single day”, adding that “we are here because we can learn from our work and because we believe that the challenge, the competition, is a way to honour our skills and make us better.”

This year’s trainers came from the The AA, ÖAMTC, Touring, and Prolux, all of whom contributed to another successful edition of the Road Patrol Training for Excellence.
