Third 'Village of Responsible Mobility' held in Strasbourg

Publication date: 08 October 2012

The third French Automobile Club Association ‘Village of Responsible Mobility’ was held in Strasbourg from 4 – 7 October. Coinciding with the French stage of the World Rally Championship, the village aimed to promote improved mobility for road users by offering exhibitions on both road safety and improved driving efficiency. Thousands of visitors attended the event, while Ms Laurianne Krid, Policy Director was invited to attend on behalf of the FIA Region I office.

The village provided the opportunity to test a range of different driving educational tools including eco-driving, new electric vehicles, driving simulators, a rotating car, and alcohol impairment glasses.

An educational circuit for young people was open to school groups on Thursday and Friday, and to families during the weekend. Children of six and up had the opportunity to test their knowledge of the Highway Code with quizzes and then have a real live test on a signposted circuit which reproduced signs and driving conditions.
