Club news: TCB launches ConnectMy.Car, delivering state-of-the-art services to members

Publication date: 20 February 2017

Touring Club Belgium and mobile phone provider Proximus have launched a ConnectMy.Car, a new product which enables drivers and fleet managers to gather and exchange information on vehicles, in order to enhance mobility. The shared data is used to detect technical problems on time and preventively, automatically settle parking charges, encourage ecodriving, map out car use and routes, improve driving behaviour and much more.

ConnectMy.Car is an integrated system that is developed as a plug-in device for cars. The device connects to the Internet to collect useful data such as location data, technical and other information about the vehicle and about driving behaviour. With the consent of the driver, the data is shared on an open and secure platform. This new telematics approach to mobility services encourages efficient mobility through flexibility and communication and also offers

maximum transparency while respecting the privacy of the driver.

With the collected data from ConnectMy.Car, car services companies could use the information to manage their fleet more effectively to improve road assistance services. Also, the plug-in device generates wi-fi hot spot in the vehicle which enables a fast connection and can be used on multiple devices.
