Club news: RACC crowdsources innovative ideas to improve mobility

Publication date: 30 May 2017

The RACC Reial Automňbil Club de Catalunya (RACC) organised the RACC Innovation Challenge, a hack-a-thon with young entrepreneurs to develop innovative ways to solve current and future problems in the mobility sector.

There were thirty-six participants and twelve teams in the competition; they were presented with the task of developing services or businesses that will resolve one of the four challenges provided by the Club. These challenges were related to mobility and assistance in a social context in which the urban population and the demand for transport are increasing, and people are constantly connected. The teams were also coached by experts in the field of innovation and creativity.

Next summer, the winning team will travel to San Francisco to fully develop its idea and participate in Imagine Silicon Valley 2017, which is a mentoring programme for entrepreneurs with master lectures, workshops and networking activities at Stanford University. This initiative is part of the Club's strategy to improve its services and the mobility in Spain. The challenge was supervised by the new business lab of RACC, a new department that is dedicated to researching and designing new business opportunities related to mobility.
