Club news: MAK elects József Hatala as new Club President

The Magyar Autóklub (MAK) of Hungary has elected József Hatala to be the new president of the Club. The previous President, Oszkár Hegedűs, announced his intention to step back with effect from 1 January 2017 after having celebrated 80th birthday end of October. The General Assembly elected former Vice-president, József Hatala for the remaining term of three years.

He has held different high professional positions at the Hungarian Police between 1983-2013, serving as National Police Commissioner between 2010-2013 by holding the rank of lieutenant general. During his long career he has been working to promote vehicle mobility and development of traffic infrastructure by focusing on road safety and accident prevention.

Before being elected president, he had worked in the board of the local Club Budapest and in the Legal Committee representing the interests of MAK members. In 2013, he was elected to the position of Vice-president and on 15th December 2016 to become President of MAK.
