Club news: LAMB brings road safety to young people through video contest

Publication date: 07 October 2015

The Latvian Auto-Moto Society (LAMB) promoted road safety with a video contest for young road users. In total, 53 participants from all over the Latvia submitted 38 films.

For the contest, road users, especially young people, were invited to create and submit videos that reflect one or more of the FIA-Michelin 10 Golden Rules for road safety. Some clips were created as animations. The contest reached a broad audience; the video describing the contest has been viewed more than 232,000 times on social networks.

At a ceremony on 3 October, Andrejs Siliņš was awarded first prize for his film featuring bicycle safety, the need to use a helmet, the dangers of texting while driving and the dangers of aggressive driving. The jury, consisting of traffic safety and advertising experts, assessed the works. All participants in the contest were awarded prizes for participation.

The LAMB team was overwhelmed by the great response from young people, their creativity, ingenuity and willingness to support road safety.
