Former FIA Region I Editor in Chief Edward Prickett dies at the age of 70

Publication date: 13 August 2012

It is with great sadness that FIA Region I received the news that Ed Prickett died last Friday at the age of 70. Ed worked as Editor in Chief for FIA Region I from 2004 till 2010 where he produced the successful GO News magazine with news from the clubs, FIA events and FIA activities. During that period he also established the European Publishing Alliance and was running various communication seminars for FIA Region I clubs.

With his excellent writing skills, and creative thinking Ed worked closely with the Region I clubs to publish the GO News magazine that told day to day stories about the increasing challenges for the automobile clubs. Ed was liked by the people he worked with because he always showed a true interest when communicating with people. He tried to understand their stories from different cultures and social backgrounds and he always showed openness, professionalism, and integrity.

In the period 1998-2004 Ed worked on Corporate Communication for the American Automobile Association (AAA) and in the last two years he worked as Editor in Chief for the Global Mobility Alliance.

FIA Region I President Werner Kraus said, “Ed Prickett will be sadly missed by those who knew him. He played a large role in the communication activities of Region I and we consulted him also in the last years to get his advice to the way we were strengthening the communications work within the region. We send our deepest condolences to his family”.
