FIA Region I presented Autopilot Project

Publication date: 10 April 2017

On 4 April 2017, FIA Region I took part in the exhibition at the 1st European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving (CAD) and presented the AUTOPILOT project.

AUTOPILOT is a three-year project financed by the European programme Horizon 2020. Its goal is to enable safer, highly automated driving thanks to smart and connected objects and the Internet of Things (IoT). AUTOPILOT will develop new services on top of IoT to involve automated driving vehicles, like autonomous car sharing, automated parking, or enhanced digital dynamic maps to allow fully automated driving.

In order to test and advance the use of AUTOPILOT automated IoT cars in the public, the tests will be conducted in real conditions at six large scale pilot sites in Finland, France, Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Korea.
