Club News: Driving test doesn’t equip new motorists for life on the road, says IAM

The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and a young driver safety organisation are urging a revamp to the UK's driving test to make it more relevant to the real world risks that young drivers face as they start their driving careers.

 

Currently, the driving test does not include any evaluation of a driver’s ability to cope safely with country roads, poor weather or driving at night – aspects that are known to be the main risk factors in the first six months of solo driving.
