Compass 4D – one step closer to C-ITS deployment in cities

Publication date: 02 July 2015

Compass 4D is coming to an end this year with final event and demonstration during the ITS World Congress in Bordeaux in October 2015. For three years, the Compass4D project has worked with European cities, road operators, vehicle fleets and road transport stakeholders to realise sustainable deployment of cooperative ITS (C-ITS) services.

The Compass4D final event will show how the project has deployed these technologies. It will also highlight the activities planned to ensure after-project life of its three piloted C-ITS services (Road Hazard Warning, Red Light Violation Warning, and Energy Efficiency Intersections) in the seven Compass4D cities.

The final event will also show how the project is setting best practise for other cities and regions in the Netherlands, Finland, Spain and Belgium. The event will introduce the economic, environmental and social benefits of the Compass4D services in cities. FIA Region I is a consortium partner of the project.
