Club news: ANWB launches campaign to make kids safer when riding in cars

Publication date: 20 February 2014

In the Netherlands, it has been estimated that approximately three-quarters of parents are not properly protecting their children when in the car. This can be because children are not in the correct child seat or not buckled up correctly.

On 6 February 2014, the ANWB launched a campaign about how to correctly transport children when travelling by car. Key themes include making sure parents have the right child seat and know how to use it correctly. The ‘Streetwise’ campaign includes five animations in which parents receive practical tips to improve road safety. Children also receive valuable information from these animations, such as, practical tips for cycling in the dark and the appropriate stopping distance in front of an approaching car.
