Club news: TCS reelects the Club President

Publication date: 09 July 2015

Touring Club of Switzerland (TCS) held its Annual Assembly in Basel on 26 June. The 171 delegates, who represent 1.5 million members of Switzerland’s largest automobile Club, unanimously reelected Peter Goetschi for a second three-year mandate as President. The Board of Directors was also confirmed.

Peter Goetschi, who has been at the helm of the TCS since 2011, said that he sees it as a priority for the Club to adapt the TCS membership to the needs of modern society and the realities of the 21st century. He also advocates further development of the federal structure of the TCS.

At the meeting the TCS Assembly also adopted a resolution that calls for the creation of a federal fund, ensuring the long-term financing of road infrastructure. It also supports the construction of a second road tunnel through the Alps at the Gotthard.
