Club news: TACI launches Walk Safe to School

Publication date: 15 March 2017

Touring & Automobile Club of The Islamic Republic of Iran (TACI) launched their 'Walk Safe to School' campaign in Iran. The event was attended by a well-known TV host, Khale Shadoone, and the traffic police of Iran, who train the children’s supervisors on traffic behaviour.

The purpose of the project was to inform the children of the possible threats they face on the road. One of the primary objectives was to bring safety to the different groups in society, especially to children who are the most vulnerable age group. The ‘Walk Safe to School’ project was implemented by the cooperation of Ministry of Education & Training, Traffic Police, Municipality of Gharchak and by the FIA Grant Programme.

The implementation included workshops where theoretical and practical traffic trainings were offered to the participants. The courses are specialised for children in first, second and third grade of primary school and at the end of the workshop, all the children received certificate of attendance.
