Club news: RACE sponsors AUTOCINE to support cinemas in Spain

Publication date: 29 March 2017

Real Automóvil Club de Espana (RACE) recently helped launched the largest drive-in cinema, AUTOCINE, in Europe with 350 cars in front of a gigantic screen of 250 square meters and food trucks as well as fun activities in an area of 25,000 square meters. Although the Club had never gotten involved in sponsorship activities in the past, it participated in this crazy and darling initiative because RACE found it important to contribute to the cultural sector in Spain, particularly because cinemas are losing prominence in Spain.

The project started about a year ago, when four entrepreneurs presented their idea to RACE for sponsorship. RACE agreed because in addition to supporting the cinemas, the Club's participation in the project provided it the opportunity to be engage with its members, promote membership loyalty and, also, helped reinforce RACE’s new brand in Spain of a motorist's Club that goes beyond roadside assistance.

Next week, the AUTOCINE project will be described in more detail in the FIA Region I Club blog (for members only).
