Club news: RACC promotes cycling with free self-repair stations

Publication date: 19 June 2017

The Reial Automňbil Club de Catalunya (RACC) has opened its first bicycle self-repair station known as Punt Bici (Bike Point). The goal of the initiative is to develop a network of bike points in strategic locations around Barcelona, in order to encourage the use of bicycles as environmentally-friendly means of transport.

The first RACC Bike Point is located at Sant Cugat, a village in the metropolitan area of Barcelona, which has been a pioneer in promoting sustainable and intermodal mobility, with bicycles playing a leading role. The repair station is free for users and it is equipped with the necessary tools cyclists need to make small repairs and maintenance work on their bikes.

The project is an initiative by the Mobility Service Laboratory of RACC to support urban cycling.
