Club news: RACC offers new rescue service with Alpify

Publication date: 09 May 2017

The Reial Automòbil Club de Catalunya (RACC) is offering new mobility services to suit the needs of its members by investing in Alpify, Spain’s leading mobile application in the field of ski rescue assistance.

Alpify is a mobile app launched in 2014 to help rescue people in danger at ski resorts. It has more than 1.5 million registered users and has proved to be an effective tool as it provides the rescue services with the exact location of the user requesting help, thus allowing for a much faster and precise intervention. Alpify began as an application to rescue people at high altitude or on mountain crossings, nowadays, it has become an application that provides rescue services with the exact position of the user requesting for help, using geolocalisation. This allows for a much faster and precise intervention. Now, it is an application for the safety of the whole family (travelers, hikers, people who practice sports, children, the elderly, etc).

RACC’s investment in Alpify shows its commitment to adapt to the needs of people by exploring new mobility services and working together with existing services in the mobility ecosystem. It is with this same goal that the Club recently acquired 6% of the capital of SocialCar, a leading platform in Spain for car rental between individuals. RACC’s objective is to seek practical solutions to the mobility needs of its members.
