Club news: HAK Croatia celebrates its 110th anniversary

Publication date: 15 June 2016

On 1 June, Hrvatski autoklub (HAK) Croatia celebrated its 110th birthday. The celebration was held in Zagreb and gathered high level guests, including FIA President Jean Todt and Region I President Thierry Willemarck, as well as representatives from fellow Automobile Clubs. The event was also attended  by Vlaho Orepić, Minister of the Interior as a special envoy of the Croatian Prime Minister Tihomir Orešković.

During the celebration, HAK’s President, Mr Slavko Tušek, gave a speech which highlighted the progress the Club has been able to make in the 110 years since its creation in 1906, and the important role it has assumed in representing its members’ and the public’s interest when it comes to transportation and mobility. He also underlined the Club's commitment to supporting the state’s activities. The President talked about HAK's plans and ambitions for future investment and development, and stressed the importance of putting the members and the public interest at the centre of the Club’s activities.

Jean Todt, President of FIA, also took the opportunity to congratulate HAK on the occasion of its 110th anniversary, underlining the successful work of the Club nationally, as well as its fruitful cooperation with the FIA and fellow Clubs across Europe.
