Club news: AL uses VR to teach traffic rules to children

Publication date: 09 May 2017

Autoliitto (AL) brought traffic education to a new level with the use of virtual reality (VR) to teach kids the rules of the road during the Finnish Traffic Education Contest.

By using FIA Region I's VR bike, the children were able to explore critical traffic situations in a safe environment by viewing an animated world using virtual reality headset. This sparked enthusiasm from the children about the simulator.

”It would be favourable to start with traffic education as early as possible, since we all are participants in traffic. It is great that so many schools put a lot of effort into traffic education,” said Taina Kytäjä-Roimupointed Head of Club Affairs, AL.

The VR bike is available to all Region I member Clubs to use for all types of events.
