Club news: ACP's new patrol cars for on-the-spot repair of electric vehicles

Publication date: 03 May 2017

With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles in Portugal, the Automóvel Club de Portugal (ACP) has introduced road patrol vehicles able to charge and repair electric vehicles on the spot. By incorporating these cars in its road service fleet, ACP aims to provide quality service, save costs and gain a competitive advantage in the market.

Knowing that the main route is the highway between Lisbon and Porto, and by far Lisbon is the main city for electrical car sales, developing patrol cars operating in this city, with the technology to recharge an electric vehicle was the main goal.

Purchases of electric vehicles has increased by 165% in 2016. By updating its road assistance fleet, ACP hopes to retain current members and attract potential new customers. This initiative aligns with ACP’s objective to continuously improve its repair-on-the-spot services and use technology to increase efficiency in service.
