Club news: ACA launches the average annual expenditure for motorists in France

Each year, the Automobile Club Association France (ACA) publishes the budget of French motorists. The report covers the cost of average annual expenditure for motorists during the previous year, with the aim to observe the evolution of costs from manufacturers, repairers, insurance, petrol and taxes.
The ACA examined the budget for 2014 for the Renault Clio petrol, Peugeot 308 diesel, Dacia Logan diesel and Toyota Prius hybrid. This year, the Club presents the cost of a used car for the first time in collaboration with Argus.The study also compares taxes in different French regions.
The Club reports that, in 2014, the budget allocated for road maintenance in France fell to 0.34 billion euros (0.424 billion in 2009). Didier Bollecker, President of the ACA states the road network needs maintenance and modernisation: "Deprived of its resources, the road network remains the biggest obstacle to a more rapid decline in the number of accidents!"
