Camping Card International (CCI) winners enjoy spectacular F1 race in Barcelona

Publication date: 14 May 2012

Leaving their family owned campsite behind for the weekend, Mariam Mardini García and Julio Mendoza Ruiz from Granada (Spain) left for Barcelona to experience the Spanish Formula One Grand Prix on 12-13 May 2012. The campsite owners had earlier been announced as the winners of the 2011 online CCI competition which offered the amazing prize of experiencing a Formula One race first hand.

‘From the minute we had the evidence that we had won the prize, we felt super lucky and grateful. We're big fans of Formula 1’, Mariam said.

The CCI winners proved to be enthusiastic Formula One fans. As they were counting the days to their trip, Mariam created a special blog on her campsite’s webpage, informing her followers about their coming adventure. The winners spent the full day at the circuit where they were given a guided tour around the paddock area and race track.

‘The incredible atmosphere, the spectacular roaring of the engines from the gallery...we encouraged the drivers in every lap and we were pleased to see our favourites on the podium; Fernando Alonso and Kimmi Raikonnen,’ Julio commented.

The 2011 CCI competition attracted a lot of interest. Please stay in touch with the CCI website: to keep updated on activities and developments for 2012.
