BIHAMK discusses closer cooperation with FIA Region I

On 13-15 March 2012, meeting were held between the Automobile Club BIHAMK and FIA Region I in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Mr Jacob Bangsgaard, FIA Region I Director General, was the guest of honour at the Annual Assembly of BIHAMK held on 14 March.  During his stay in Sarajevo, Mr Bangsgaard had the opportunity to visit the BIHAMK technical centre, the BIHAMK call centre, and was introduced to a number of senior club officials including the President Mr Rasim Kadic, the General Secretary Mr Elmedin Bajramovic, and the BIHAMK management team.

Strengthening cooperation between the FIA Region I office in Brussels and BIHAMK was discussed, as were suggestions for further developing the flow of information between Brussels and the Club.

BIHAMK last year pledged itself to the FIA’s Action for Road Safety campaign with a programme intended to educate the country on the enormous benefits of wearing seatbelts and fitting child restraints. The programme will be carried out in cooperation with transport police and the Ministry of Communication and Traffic has launched the ‘Buckle-up – Seatbelts Save Lives’ promotion, aimed at drivers who choose to drive without seat restraints.
