Automobile Club of Romania wins prestigious award for quality service

On 29 May 2013, ACR was awarded the prestigious ‘First Trophy of Quality in Romania’. The award has been granted for the past 16 years to private or state companies which offer exceptional service, or to outstanding personalities from the scientific, cultural, business or sporting sectors of Romania. For the first time, the award was presented this year to a civil society group – the Automobile Club of Romania (ACR).

The jury said that ACR was selected for the top award in recognition of the role it has played over eleven decades as an organisation of Romanian Civil Society representing the motoring movement in the country, being one of the oldest Automobile Clubs in the world. “It is a national brand, with special significance in assisting motorists, protecting their interests, promoting road safety education and also developing automobile sport and karting as members of the FIA”, the jury said.

During the ceremony, the ACR President Constantin Niculescu also received an award for his 46 years of service to the Automobile Club, for his dedication to the Club’s values and spirit, and also for his contribution to the modern development of the ACR, and its national and international motoring activities.
