Club news: ATCUAE promotes traffic awareness and road safety

Publication date: 12 October 2016

The Automobile & Touring Club of the United Arab Emirates (ATCUAE) worked with the Ministry of Interior to promote its traffic awareness campaign with the slogan "Our Students are a Responsibility" prior to the start of the new academic year.

The campaign aimed to control road speed, promote traffic safety, and reduce pedestrian accidents. It aimed to increase road safety knowledge among students of all ages, especially young impressionable children, focusing on the importance of adhering to traffic laws.

ATCUAE President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “Firstly, I would like to congratulate our students, parents and teaching staff on the occasion of the new academic year. We all need to collaborate in preserving the safety of our students and providing them with a stable environment and safe roads. There is an urgent need to raise awareness and promote traffic safety among students of all ages, as well as their parents and other road users. More effort needs to be focused by all entities concerned with road safety on the importance of adhering to traffic laws and instructions”

The campaign includes activities and lectures within the Kahlifa Student Empowerment Program, with the aim of raising awareness of entities in charge of student transport. It also promotes awareness in families to urge them to incubate traffic awareness in their children from a young age. It also includes numerous awareness tips and messages across different media outlets.
