Club news: ANWB launches private leasing

Publication date: 03 August 2016

ANWB has started car leasing a service of its own, with benefits exclusively available to members of the Club. The pilot is showing some very promising first results.

Over the last 2 years, the number of private lease companies in the Netherlands has doubled and in September 2015 the Royal Dutch Touring Club (ANWB) decided to launch car leasing. The new service is set up with leasing company LeasePlan and is exclusively available for members of ANWB. The Club has negotiated unique conditions: in case of unforeseen and personal circumstances the contract can be terminated immediately, with no extra costs included. Another unique feature is that there is no maximum age for participation.

People can choose between 18 different vehicle makes and models, ranging from compact city cars to SUV’s. A typical contract will be 4 years, but it is possible to lease a car for 2 or 3 years. The cheapest model, a Fiat Panda, costs €194 per month on a four-year contract. That includes everything from insurance to maintenance and roadside assistance. The only additional cost to members is fuel.

Over the last 9 months 5,000 people applied for the service. After the mandatory financial check, 60% of these applicants have started leasing a car.
