Club News: ADAC road user survey on German road toll

A survey of German Automobile Club, ADAC, members carried out in late 2014 has found that although 39% would support the new German road tolls, that is on the conditions that the funds are re-invested in road infrastructure and that they are not made to pay it. A further 34% do not support the road tax at all.

The ADAC has remained sceptical since the beginning that the funds gathered from this toll would be reinvested as planned as there is no earmarking in the collection of this revenue. ADAC is contesting the fact that the announced revenue would be raised and has concerns over the compatibility of the toll with EU legislation.
