About us
The European Bureau of the FIA Eurocouncil
Founded in 1904, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) brings together leading national motoring organisations from 132 countries worldwide and is the governing body for world motor sport. In Europe, the FIA represents more than 35 million motoring consumers via its 76 Member Clubs. We are the true voice of the motorists.
Much of the work of the FIA concentrates on defending and promoting the interests of our members and maximising the societal benefits of motoring for all. With these aims in mind our work focuses on Road Safety, Consumer Protection, Environmental Protection, and the promotion of Sustainable Motoring.
The work of the European Bureau, guided by the Clubs, consists of monitoring the work of the EU institutions, developing common platforms for the work of the Clubs, and ensuring that our message is heard in Brussels and Strasbourg. Additionally, we also engage in a number of programmes and projects, such as EuroTest, which further the interests and goals of our members..
