FIA Region I Election Results: Thierry Willemarck elected new FIA Region I President for Europe, the Middle East and Africa

Thierry Willemarck has been elected the new FIA Region I President today (15 May 2013). Mr Willemarck is a Belgian national who is also CEO of Touring Club Belgium (TCB). He replaces the out-going President Werner Kraus after serving 8 years in the role.

ACI President Sticchi Damiani and FIA Region I President Werner Kraus held a meeting with Antonio Tajani, the EC Vice-President for Industry and Entrepreneurship, on 7 May 2013 to discuss an upcoming EC proposal expected on the emergency call system eCall.

Transport Commissioner Kallas joins Brussels Long Short Walk for Pedestrian Safety

The Brussels Transport community came together to participate in a Long Short Walk for Pedestrian Safety yesterday (6 May), led by EC Vice-President Kallas, and coordinated by the FIA Region I office, to mark European Road Safety Day and the beginning of the UN Global Road Safety Week.
