World’s largest driver training centre opened in Egypt

The Egyptian Minister of Tourism, His Highness, Mr Mounir Fahkry, participated at the opening of the Egyptian Training Centre of Excellence (ETCE) on 1 March 2012. The new centre is the largest and most modern Road Safety Training Centre in the world.

The ETCE, which lies 20 kilometres south-east of Cairo, and covers an area of 42 hectares. The ETCE is a multi-functional safety training facility with the ability to offer tailored programmes for cars, buses, trucks and motorcycles, as well as educational safety instruction for all age groups including children and young adults. The facility meets the highest targets for economical and ecological sustainability.

 

The primary function of the Egyptian Training Centre of Excellence is to train drivers of tourist buses to meet the Egyptian Government’s desire to ensure the safety of the almost 13 million annual visitors to the country, as well as that of its residents.
