    Policy Internship

    FIA Region I is a consumer body representing 107 Motoring and Touring Clubs and their 38.5 million members from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The FIA represents the interests of our members as motorists, riders, pedestrians and passengers. FIA Region I is working to ensure safe, affordable, clean and efficient mobility for all.

    Place: FIA Region I office in Brussels, Belgium

    Duration: 4 to 6 months, full-time (agreement with the University necessary)

    Starting date: 3 September 2018

    The role:

    The tasks would be mainly focused on policy support, working together with the policy team under the supervision of the Policy Director and Policy Manager.Tasks would include but not be strictly limited to:

    • Support in policy monitoring, legislative research, support events organisation and lobbying strategies
    • Drafting policy news articles to our internal website and policy monitoring tools
    • General administrative support like drafting of documents, preparing presentations
    • Providing information for communications activities
    • Participate in internal and external meeting activities

    Profile:

    University student seeking work experience in Brussels within an international team. Qualities required include a high level of English both written and spoken, and good analytical skills. Knowledge of the EU decision-making process is a plus but is not required. Please, note that candidates must be registered at a higher education institution to be eligible for the internship position.

    We are offering a full-time internship, 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), from 9:00-18:00.

    A stipend will be given covering a part of the living costs in Brussels.

    Communications & Events Internship

    Place: FIA Region I office in Brussels, Belgium

    Duration: 5 months, full-time (agreement with the university necessary)

    Starting date: 3 September 2018

    The role:

    This internship would suit a student looking to grow a variety of skills in the Brussels policy / communications environment. Tasks will primarily focus on communications, working together with the Region I Coordinator and Communications manager.

    Tasks can include but not be strictly limited to:

    • Drafting articles
    • Updating websites
    • Supporting the development of new websites
    • Supporting administrative tasks
    • Proofreading
    • Event support
    • Layout/design of documentation
    • Press monitoring
    • Inventory of materials both digital and printed
    • Uploading photos / videos / publications
    • Support for social media accounts
    • Researching website statistics / analytics
    • Working with suppliers for website/print material development

    Profile:

    University student seeking work experience in Brussels within an international team. Qualities required include: a high level of English both written and spoken; creativity; a fast learner; good analytical skills; and a determination to get the job done right. The ideal candidate is organised, enthusiastic, with an ability to prioritise time-sensitive assignments and an eye for detail. A knowledge of html/Wordpress, Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and active social media presence is a plus.

    We are offering a full-time internship, 5 days a week (Monday-Friday), from 9-18.

    A stipend will be given covering a part of the living costs in Brussels.

    EU Projects internship

    FIA Region I is a consumer body representing 107 Motoring and Touring Clubs and their 38.5 million members from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The FIA represents the interests of our members as motorists, riders, pedestrians and passengers. FIA Region I is working to ensure safe, affordable, clean and efficient mobility for all.

    Place: FIA Region I office, Brussels, Belgium

    Duration: 6 months, full-time (agreement with the university necessary)

    Start date: 30.07.2018

    Deadline for applications: 29.06.2018

    The role:

    This internship suits a student looking to grow a variety of skills related to research, coordination and support activities related to European Union transport and mobility policy. Tasks will primarily focus on assisting the EU Projects team with desktop research and communication activities.

    Tasks would include, but not be strictly limited to:

    • Support in fact finding, proofreading and information processing
    • Support in the development and implementation of online surveys
    • Drafting of news articles, social media communication, and updating of project websites
    • Support in the creation of communication material
    • Support in the organisation of meetings, webinars and events
    • Support in administrative tasks

    Profile:

    Higher education student seeking work experience in Brussels within an international team. Qualities required include: an excellent command of English, both written and spoken; a fast learner; good analytical and research skills; and a determination to get the job done right. The ideal candidate is organised and methodological, enthusiastic, with an ability to prioritise time-sensitive assignments and an eye for detail.

    Good knowledge of MS Office tools and basic proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop are required; experience with WordPress, event planning and a good command of Italian or Greek would be an advantage.

    We are offering a full-time internship, 5 days a week (Monday-Friday / 9.00-18.00).

    Communications Manager

The FIA represents the interests of our members as motorists, riders, pedestrians and passengers. FIA Region I is working to ensure safe, affordable, clean and efficient mobility for all.

    Place: FIA Region I office in Brussels, Belgium

    Duration: Undetermined Duration

    Starting date: 1st September

    The role:

    The Communications manager is in charge of relaying the office messages toward decision makers and provide a regular information flow to our Clubs. S/he reports to the Region I Coordinator.

    S/he will be entrusted with the following tasks:

    • Propose and implement the office’s communications Management of the internal and external websites, running two yearly campaigns and develop the visuals around it, manage the brand identity, presence on social media
    • Organising exchange of expertise with members via yearly events, webinars and internal newsletters
    • Maintain good relations with European Press (reply to queries, promote campaigns, press releases..)
    • Produce written content (drafting, editing, proofreading)
    • Liaise with and coordinate projects contracted to external suppliers

    Profile:

    We are looking for a colleague with 3-5 years’ experience, dynamic and strong team player, who has:

    • Working proficiency in written and spoken English. Other language an asset.
    • Strong writing skills, creativity, knowledge of social media and websites
    • Ability to convey complex messages in an attractive way (in writing, social media, videos..)
    • Education in a related field (Communications, Journalism, Public Relations) an asset.

    The ideal candidate is a good networker, organised and able to prioritize, with an ability to proactively develop and find solutions.
